Permanent magnet generator is a kind of synchronous motor which uses permanent magnet instead of rotor winding. Because no other excitation is needed, the loss of rotor excitation will be eliminated, with high power density characteristics, the motor efficiency can reach the highest, so as to achieve the maximum annual power generation with the minimum production cycle maintenance cost.

The motor does not need collecting ring and brush frame. It is compact, simple in structure, reliable in technology, does not absorb reactive excitation from the grid, and has little impact on the stable operation of the grid. Compared with the doubly fed fan, the full power converter is easier to realize low-voltage ride through, and can significantly improve the power quality, reduce the impact of the generator on the low-voltage grid, and ensure the reliability and safety of the grid after the wind power is connected to the grid.
